The Government Office has just issued Document No. 912/VPCP-CN conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on accelerating the progress of the Long Thanh International Airport project (Long Thanh airport).
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministries of Construction, Finance, Agriculture and Environment, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies to urgently implement the tasks as proposed by the Ministry of Construction and directed by the Prime Minister based on their assigned functions and tasks.
The Ministry of Construction continues to regularly inspect and direct investors and related managing agencies in project implementation to ensure the completion progress according to the plan; promptly report to the Prime Minister the implementation results, difficulties, obstacles and solutions to remove them.
Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee urgently completes the appraisal of the basic design of the fuel pipeline, works under component project 4 to soon deploy construction to ensure completion and synchronous exploitation in June 2026; if difficulties and obstacles arise, promptly report to the Ministry of Construction for support, guidance, and resolution.
Vietnam Airports Corporation must regularly organize inspections and reviews of construction progress, adjust and update progress weekly for each item and package under component project 3; promptly organize handling of difficulties and obstacles affecting construction progress.
Directing contractors to increase manpower and equipment, proactively gather sources of materials, materials, financial resources..., organize construction in 3 shifts, 4 teams, construction all day, holidays to complete according to the committed progress, especially packages with large remaining volume, with the risk of delays such as package No. 4.8 (Inland port traffic and technical infrastructure) and 5.10 (Passenger terminal).
Urgently organize the preparation of the feasibility study report for phase 2 and procedures for adjusting the function of 4 warehouses to deploy the next steps to ensure progress according to requirements.
Vietnam Airlines Corporation directs the investors of airline meal service projects, ground commercial technology, hangar No. 1 (aircraft hold) to accelerate the implementation progress to ensure completion and synchronous operation in June 2026.
Urgently organize research and deployment of investment in construction of hangar No. 2, cargo station No. 2, three express delivery cargo and 4 warehouses (from No. 5 to No. 8) to meet the progress according to the contract.

Research and build Long Thanh airport into a regional air transit center, along with a modern and synchronous air and non-air service ecosystem, towards forming the "Long Thanh Airport City".
According to Vietnam Airports Corporation, currently, joint venture contractors are mobilizing nearly 15,000 experts, engineers, workers and more than 3,000 equipment and machinery, deploying hundreds of construction teams on the construction site.
The project to build Long Thanh Airport Police Station has a total investment of more than 43 billion VND, started on December 25, 2024 with a construction time of 360 days. To date, the construction and equipment procurement package has been completed.
