This morning (October 18), at Ha Long International Passenger Port, the Tuan Chau Express high-speed ship of Havaco Investment Joint Stock Company tested the route Ha Long (Quang Ninh) - Cat Ba (Hai Phong City), in preparation for the official opening scheduled for November 15.
According to the plan, the ship runs daily, departing from Tuan Chau International Passenger Port at 7:30 am and arriving at Dong Ho Bay (Cat Ba Town Center, Hai Phong City) at 8:30 am. Then, the ship will take passengers from Dong Ho Bay to Dong Bai Port and return to Dong Ho Bay. At 3:00 pm on the same day, the ship from Dong Ho Bay returns to Ha Long International Passenger Port.
It takes locals and tourists only about 1 hour to travel from Ha Long to Cat Ba town center at a price of 250,000 VND/person/trip.
Tuan Chau Express is the first modern high-speed sea passenger transport route to operate, connecting the heritage area of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago. This is a 2-hull high-speed ship with a modern design according to European standards, with a capacity of up to 300 passengers and many entertainment facilities. The ship has a maximum speed of up to 28 nautical miles/hour, high stability, noise resistance, anti-seasickness, can operate in bad weather conditions, wind level 7.
The operation of the high-speed ferry connecting Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba will help people and tourists have more interesting experiences, reduce traffic and pressure on ferry routes which are very crowded on weekends; at the same time, strengthen the connection between Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago after being recognized as a World Natural Heritage.
