Due to the impact of storm No. 1, from the night of July 4 to the early morning of July 5, the area of Mong Cai 1, Mong Cai 2, Mong Cai 3 wards, Hai Son commune, Hai Ninh, Vinh Thuc experienced heavy rain with strong winds.
In Mong Cai 1 ward, many streets were flooded, green trees were broken and fallen; billboards and corrugated iron roofs were damaged. Some areas experienced local power outages.
In Hai Hoa 1, Hai Hoa 2 and Hai Hoa 6 neighborhoods, heavy rain combined with high tide caused 8 households with 21 people to be flooded.
On the same night, local authorities mobilized forces to coordinate with people to approach the flooded area, supporting the relocation of households to safe places.
According to initial statistics, in Mong Cai 1 ward, there are about 800 green trees broken and fallen; many streets are without power.
In Mong Cai 2 ward, initial statistics recorded over 50 broken and fallen green trees; about 10 houses had their roofs blown off. Some civil works were also affected after the storm night.
Before the developments of storm No. 1, wards and communes have strictly maintained a 24/24 hour duty regime; mobilized forces and vehicles according to the "4 on-the-spot" motto, ready to respond and handle promptly arising situations, minimizing damage caused by natural disasters.
By the morning of July 5, local authorities continued to review key areas, advising people to limit traffic through deeply flooded roads, areas with leaning fallen trees or places where the power system has not been completely restored to ensure safety.
