On April 17, information from the People's Committee of Bach Quang Ward (Song Cong City) said that a work accident had just occurred in a factory, killing 1 person.
Accordingly, the incident occurred on April 15 at the factory of Thai Nguyen Zinc - Power Fertilizer Factory (under VIMICO Company) operating in Song Cong I Industrial Park.
During the work, a male worker (identity not yet determined) slipped and fell from a height to the ground, seriously injured. Immediately afterwards, this person was taken to Thai Nguyen C Hospital for emergency treatment, but due to severe injuries, he died.
Regarding the incident, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Chief of Office of VIMICO Company confirmed that the accident occurred at the unit's factory, but the workers were under the management of a partner enterprise.
"That partner enterprise is the contractor for the construction for us. Due to the company's leadership's absence, the Company's Office does not have a clear understanding of who the deceased workers were and which construction unit they belonged to," Mr. Hieu added.
The incident is currently being verified and clarified by the authorities.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at Song Cong I Industrial Park, at around 7:15 a.m. on April 9, at the two- pot furnace system No. 4, Luyen - Duc Workshop, Huong Dong Company Limited, which was in the process of putting iron scrap into the furnace, an explosion occurred.
The steel furnace explosion caused 4 victims to suffer severe burns, Nguyen Xuan D., Nguyen Quang C., Loc Khanh D. and Vu Manh H. Although they were treated wholeheartedly, on April 10, due to severe burns (98%) Mr. Loc Khanh D. died.
