On April 8, the Inspectorate of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai province issued a decision to administratively fine Viet Thai Power Cable Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, An Binh Ward, Bien Hoa City) VND65 million for not having an environmental license as prescribed.
The additional penalty is to suspend the operation of the source of waste without an environmental license of the facility for 4.5 months from the date of receipt of the penalty decision.
The remedial measure is to force the relocation of the facility to a location in accordance with the planning, environmental zoning, environmental load-bearing capacity approved by competent authorities...
The implementation time is before December 1, 2025 (according to the roadmap set out in Decision No. 324/QD-UBND dated February 5, 2025 of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on approving the Project to convert Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an urban - commercial - service area and improve the environment).
Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park is the oldest industrial park in Vietnam established in 1963, but has revealed limitations, located close to the Dong Nai River, with a high risk of environmental pollution. Currently, inside Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, in addition to factories, there are also mixed residential areas (255 households).
