On July 14, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh chaired a direct and online conference on improving environmental sanitation quality, implementing the peak of the emulation movement "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful".
The conference took place in the context of the capital actively preparing for the large-scale parade and parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
Reporting at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dai - Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment said that as of June 27, all environmental sanitation packages in 30 districts, towns and cities have been handed over from the old district level to the Department, the Agricultural and Environmental Technical Center for monitoring and management.
The Department is submitting to the City People's Committee a plan to zoning and restructure environmental sanitation packages for the 2026-2030 period; develop technical norms, maximum prices for domestic solid waste collection and transportation services and select contractors to provide services throughout the city, striving to complete before December 31, 2025.
Regarding the work of improving the quality of environmental sanitation, after the launching ceremony of the operation of motor vehicles in early July 2025, environmental enterprises actively put machinery into pilot implementation in the wards: Cua Nam, Hai Ba Trung, Giang Vo, Ngoc Ha...
New vehicles such as vacuum cleaners, high-pressure road washing vehicles, garbage collection vehicles in alleys, and dusty fog-proofing vehicles are deployed synchronously, gradually replacing manual methods. It is expected that this model will expand to the remaining wards to create clear changes.
The Department has developed a technical process, detailed instructions, and at the same time required units to place trash bins in accordance with standards, in accordance with automatic collection equipment, aiming to completely eliminate "garbage stations".
At the conference, representatives of Cua Nam, Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Hai Ba Trung wards... all said that they have organized weekly environmental sanitation activities, organized emulation movements between residential areas and residential groups.
Concluding the conference, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh suggested that localities, agencies and units proactively immediately launch environmental sanitation work.
In the near future, after the Hanoi Party Committee issues the Directive, the City People's Committee, relevant departments and branches, communes and wards need to immediately develop an implementation plan.
If financial problems arise during implementation, localities and units need to report to the Department of Finance for synthesis, consultation with the City People's Committee for consideration, and timely support.
The leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee also emphasized the importance of environmental sanitation, considering this a content serving the people, government for the people; a task that contributes to restoring urban discipline and order, improving the quality of life of the people.
In the immediate future, there are two groups of tasks that need to be implemented, which are: Environmental sanitation and urban decoration is bright - green - clean - beautiful. The city will launch a peak environmental sanitation period.
"During about 1 month of implementation, Hanoi must have a new look, thereby raising pride, arousing community awareness so that the National Day becomes a turning point for the Capital and the country" - Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said.
