On June 21, information from functional agencies of Quang Ninh province said that a labor accident had just occurred at Uong Bi Coal Company - TKV, killing one worker.
According to initial information, the accident occurred at about 2:30 PM, shift 1 on June 18, 2026, at the upper level -150/-10 mine, Southwest area, Trang Bach mine, belonging to the K25 mine mining workshop, Uong Bi Coal Company - TKV.
The victim is Mr. G.V.K, born in 1978, residing in group 8, Trang Bach area, Hoang Que ward, Quang Ninh province. Mr. K is a level 5/5 furnace worker.
At the time of the incident, Mr. K was assigned the task of transporting supplies and materials to serve the construction of the upper mine level -150/-10 in the Southwest area, Trang Bach mine.
During the working process, Mr. K was suddenly hit by stones and sheets on top of the kiln roof, leading to serious injuries.
After the accident, the company gave first aid and took the victim to Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital for emergency treatment. However, at 2:35 pm on June 20, 2026, Mr. K died.
Currently, the Quang Ninh Provincial Labor Accident Investigation Team is coordinating with the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ninh Provincial Police to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident according to regulations.
