Mr. Luong Van Thom, Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of Na Pan village, confirmed that a tragic drowning incident had just occurred in the area.
According to initial information, at about 5 pm on May 3, the family of L.V. N (born 2014), residing in Na Pan village, went to the Ma River area to cast nets. While going with her father, due to the muddy and rising water of the Ma River after rain, the two young children unfortunately slipped and fell into the gravel mining pit area under the riverbed.
The father promptly rescued his younger brother L.V. N (born 2015), but the older brother L.V. N (born 2014) was swept away by the water and went missing.
Upon receiving the news, the village mobilized local forces to organize the search. At about nearly 6 pm on the same day, N's body was found about 20m from the accident site.
Immediately after the incident, local authorities visited, encouraged and supported the family to prepare for the funeral according to local customs.
