On May 1, a private source of Lao Dong reported that at around 10:30 a.m. the same day, while traveling at sea in Hon Kho area (Nhon Hai commune, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh), the water motorbike suddenly lost control, plunged ashore and caused an accident, killing 1 person and injuring 3 others.
The leader of Nhon Hai Commune People's Committee confirmed: "4 victims hit by a water motorbike have been taken to the hospital for emergency care, including 1 very serious case. The authorities are coordinating to investigate and clarify the incident".
Speaking to Lao Dong, a representative of Binh Dinh General Hospital informed that the hospital had received 4 victims related to the above accident. Among them, an 8-year-old child (residing in Hanoi) died from severe injuries. A 14-year-old child (also residing in Hanoi) was seriously injured and is currently being treated in the Department of Neurosurgery. The remaining two cases were slightly injured and are being monitored.
"The seriously injured patient was transferred to the Neurosurgery Resuscitation Department for treatment. Doctors are actively caring for and monitoring the victims' health," said the representative.
The leader of Binh Dinh Police Department of Traffic Police said that the unit had grasped the information of the case and sent a waterway traffic police officer to coordinate with the commune border forces and the People's Committee of Nhon Hai Commune to clarify the cause of the accident.
"Initial information is that the water motorbike lost control and suddenly crashed ashore, hitting people and tourists. However, to have specific information, we must wait for the conclusion of the authorities," he said.
