Heavy rain causes landslides at Ma Phuc Pass, ancient trees fall and block the road

Cao Bang - Landslides and large trees have occurred in Tra Linh and Doc Lap communes.

On July 29, according to information from Cao Bang Provincial Police, due to the impact of prolonged rain, from July 28, many points on the Ma Phuc Pass route appeared landslides from the positive slope down to the edge of the road.

The road surface is wet, slippery, posing a potential risk of unsafety for people and vehicles traveling.

Functional forces recommend that people and drivers when passing through the area should reduce speed, pay attention to the mountainside and road surface, maintain a safe distance from vehicles in front, and do not stop or park at locations with signs of landslides or the risk of rock falling.

In heavy rain conditions, especially at night or when visibility is limited, traffic participants are advised to limit traffic through the Ma Phuc Pass area, not to be subjective about the phenomenon of soil and rock falling, water overflowing the road surface or trees showing signs of tilting or falling.

When detecting points at risk of landslides or traffic unsafety, people need to promptly notify local authorities or the police force to deploy warning and handling measures.

For households living near hilly areas, functional forces request to regularly monitor weather developments, proactively take natural disaster prevention measures and comply with the guidance of functional agencies to ensure safety for people and property.

Also in Cao Bang, in the early morning of July 29, after thunderstorms with strong winds occurred in the area, Doc Lap Commune Police mobilized forces to coordinate with forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level to urgently overcome the consequences, clear fallen green trees, and ensure smooth traffic.

Previously, on the night of July 28, a thunderstorm caused an ancient tree to uproot and fall across the road through Kim Bang hamlet, Doc Lap commune, causing traffic obstruction.

After receiving information, the police force was present at the scene, coordinating to prune and collect fallen trees, clearing the road surface for vehicles to circulate safely.
