On August 21, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the leaders of Tri An Ward People's Committee, Dong Nai City, said: The Party Committee and Tri An Ward People's Committee have directed departments to clean up and repair damages that occurred at Tri An Primary and Secondary School caused by thunderstorms, without affecting classroom blocks, ensuring that students can go to school according to the direction of Dong Nai City People's Committee and the City Department of Education and Training.

Previously, in the afternoon of August 20, heavy rain with thunderstorms occurred in Tri An neighborhood, Tri An ward, causing damage to facilities at Tri An Primary and Secondary School.
According to records, due to the impact of thunderstorms, the roof of a building in the school was blown off and completely damaged; a section of the wall also collapsed. At the time of the incident, school officials and teachers were focusing on cleaning, renovating and preparing facilities to serve the new school year. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any casualties.

Immediately after receiving the information, leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Tri An Ward urgently arrived at the scene to inspect, grasp the situation and direct professional departments, Ward Military Command and Ward Police to mobilize forces and coordinate with the school to overcome the consequences.
Tri An Primary and Secondary School has 4 school sites with 1,015 students, of which the school site damaged by thunderstorms has 275 students.
On August 19, Dong Nai City People's Committee issued a time plan for the 2026-2027 school year for educational institutions: preschool, general and continuing education in the area. All levels of education will officially open the new school year on September 5. Regarding the school start time, preschool, grade 1, grade 9 and grade 12 (including continuing education system) will start school earliest from August 24. The remaining grades of primary, secondary, high school and continuing education will start school on August 27.
