On September 15, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Hoang Cuong - Chairman of Tan Thanh Commune People's Committee, Thanh Hoa province, said that in recent days, there have been heavy rains in the area, affecting people's lives and travel.
Heavy rain caused water to rise, causing deep flooding at the spillway point on provincial road 519B, passing through Thanh Nang village, affecting the travel of people in the area.
On the same morning, the locality allowed students at schools at risk of unsafety to take leave from school" - Mr. Cuong said.
According to the Chairman of Tan Thanh Commune People's Committee, the water at the spillway point rose quite high, flowing swiftly, causing about 100 households in Thanh Nang village to be temporarily isolated. If the rain stops, the water at the spillway point recedes, and people can travel again.
However, to ensure safety for people, functional forces have placed warning signs and arranged people to be on duty at both ends of the spillway point" - Mr. Cuong informed.
Representatives of Tan Thanh Commune People's Committee added that heavy rain in recent days has also caused many landslides in the area. However, the landslide points are small in scale, and people can still temporarily travel back and forth.
