In recent days, heavy rains have continuously occurred in Bac Kan province, causing flooding, landslides and cutting off many roads, especially in Bach Thong district.
Many households were affected, the rural transportation system was paralyzed, and the lives of people in the highlands were difficult.

On June 21, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter noted that many locations on the road connecting Nguyen Phuc - Sy Binh commune through Bach Thong district were seriously eroded.
In the section from Ngoan village to Khuoi O village ( Sy Binh commune), the road surface was dug deep in the middle, causing complete disruption to traffic. This is a vital route to serve the travel needs of the people.
Mr. Hoang Van Tinh (Bach Thong) said: "Since the road was eroded, we have had to go around the road all morning to get to the commune center. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon so that people can travel with peace of mind".
At the same time, in Cam Giang commune, the inter-commune road leading to Nguyen Phuc commune also suffered a serious landslide.
Dozens of cubic meters of soil spilled onto the road, making it impossible for vehicles to pass, forcing them to turn around or find a way around small eroded paths.
People in the area said that in just one night of heavy rain, the entire road was buried by mud, with the risk of further landslides if the rain continued.

According to information from the People's Committee of Bach Thong district, the heavy rain from June 18 to the morning of June 19 caused severe impacts.
There were 26 households affected by landslides, of which one house was flooded; about 48 hectares of rice and crops were flooded; 0.21 hectares of aquaculture ponds were also swept away.
In particular, at the District Medical Center, a 40m long wall of a public house collapsed due to long-standing water seepage.
Not only is traffic safety impaired, people in many affected areas are also concerned about the continued unexpected landslides.
Faced with complicated weather developments, the Bach Thong district government has directed functional forces to organize inspections, count damage, and mobilize initial remedial measures at isolated traffic points.
At the same time, the district also coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Kan province to review high-risk locations, support people in relocating assets, and ensure absolute safety for people.
