Heavy rain causes serious landslides in mountainous district of Bac Kan

    Bac Kan - Many houses and traffic routes in Bach Thong district were eroded after heavy rain.

    The prolonged heavy rain this morning caused serious flooding, damage to traffic, housing, and agricultural production in Bach Thong district.

    Preliminary statistics from the authorities show that 26 houses were affected by landslides, 1 house was flooded; 48 hectares of rice and crops were flooded, and 0.21 hectares of seafood were damaged.

    Heavy rain caused landslides in many traffic points in Tan Tu, Vu Muon, Luc Binh, Cam Giang, Sy Binh, Nguyen Phuc communes. Dozens of blocks of rock and soil caused traffic jams, making it difficult to travel. The district health center had a wall of an official residence about 40m long collapsed.

    Currently, Bach Thong district is still experiencing heavy and very heavy rain, with the risk of widespread flooding and landslides.

    The local government is directing the specialized department to synthesize, count the damage and deploy response measures.
