In the past 24 hours (from 3:00 p.m. on June 11 to 3:00 p.m. on June 12), Quang Tri province recorded heavy rain. Rainfall is generally from 120-280 mm, some points exceed the threshold such as Hai Lam (293.4 mm), My Chanh (342.8 mm), La To hydropower plant (371 mm).
According to the forecast, from the afternoon of June 12 to the end of June 13, the area will continue to have heavy to very heavy rain, with total rainfall generally 50-150 mm, the highest point can exceed 220 mm.

Currently, the water level on the rivers is rising, ranging from below alert level 1 to below alert level 2. Some points exceed alert level 1 such as Ben Hai River at Gia Vong (5.04 m, exceeding 0.04 m); Hieu River at Dau Mau (21.81 m, exceeding 0.81 m). Notably, the O Lau River in My Chanh has reached alert level 2 (4.04 m).
In Hai Lang district, many communes were partially flooded. The dike road in Dong Truong village (Hai Truong commune) was flooded 0.3-0.7 m on a 1 km long section; the inter-commune routes and the hamlet roads were flooded 0.2-0.4 m deep. Hai Lam commune alone evacuated 12 households with 33 people living along the Nhon River, which had been eroded in 2024.

Huong Hoa district has 6 bridges and culverts cut off due to heavy rain; Dakrong district recorded Tran Ba Long flooded up to 1 m deep.
The whole province had 14,297 hectares of rice flooded, concentrated in Hai Lang (5,713 hectares), Trieu Phong (3,740 hectares), Gio Linh (1 1,617 hectares)... In addition, 62.5 hectares of lotus, 512 hectares of vegetables, nearly 150 forestry trees were broken.
Some other damages include a sewer in Trung Hai commune (Gio Linh) collapsed, a house in Trieu Co commune (Trieu Phong) had its roof completely blown off, and many households had their tents blown off.

Localities have proactively operated flood pumping stations, built temporary banks, dredged canals... to respond.
It is forecasted that from now until June 13, floods on rivers will continue to rise, in some places exceeding alert level 2. Risk of urban flooding in Dong Ha, Quang Tri town and low-lying areas; landslides in mountainous areas.
