From 1:00 AM on September 10th to 1:00 AM on September 11th, rainfall in many places exceeded 100mm, including Cat Lai 128.2 mm, Cu Chi 125.2 mm, Thu Duc 112.5 mm, Hoc Mon 102.4 mm... Heavy rain caused flooding in many areas of the city.
This is recorded as the heaviest rain in Ho Chi Minh City since the beginning of the year.
On September 11, the intertropical convergence zone continues to be maintained, while wind convergence is active in the area. It is forecast that moderate to heavy rain will continue to appear on a large scale, accompanied by thunderstorms; some places are likely to have rain over 100mm, concentrated in the eastern and western coastal areas.
The weather in Ho Chi Minh City today is cloudy, weak sunshine and only appears occasionally. In the morning there is rain in some places; from after 9 am, convective clouds tend to develop strongly, thunderstorms increase at noon, afternoon and evening.
Due to cloudy and rainy weather, the temperature during the day is quite cool, with a common highest of 28-31 degrees Celsius.
The risk of heavy rain causing flooding in the afternoon to evening of September 11 is still high, especially during rush hour. People need to proactively monitor rain developments, limit moving through roads that are often deeply flooded and pay attention to the risk of thunderstorms and lightning in the rain.
