Son La - On June 8, floods caused damage to some rice fields and affected the houses of households in Nam Ty commune, Song Ma district, Son La.

Information from the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Song Ma district (Son La) said that in the early morning of June 8, heavy rain caused the amount of water from the upstream to rush in quickly, washing away and burying some rice fields of people in Nam Ty commune, Song Ma district.

Floodwaters carrying mud have also overflowed into some houses living along both sides of Nam Ty stream.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai - Vice Chairman of Song Ma District People's Committee said that the District's Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue has updated the direction and warnings to propagate and mobilize households living near areas at risk of flash floods and flash floods to improve prevention work.
