On June 2, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De and the working delegation directly inspected the scene of areas heavily affected by natural disasters in Tri Le, Hanh Dich communes (Que Phong district) and Huu Khuong and Nhon Mai communes (Tuong Duong district).
In Que Phong district, flash floods and flash floods caused 1 house to collapse, 5 houses to be severely damaged, and dozens of other houses were flooded with rocks and soil. More than 470 livestock and poultry were swept away, nearly 180 hectares of crops and 52 hectares of seafood were damaged. A spillway collapsed, more than 590m of irrigation ditches were buried, 7 electric poles were broken, and many inter-commune traffic routes were cut off.

The embankment and domestic water tank in the highlands such as Lam Hop and Pa Khom were severely damaged. The total damage in the area is estimated at more than 70 billion VND.
Tuong Duong district is also heavily affected, especially in Huu Khuong and Nhon Mai communes. Heavy rain on the evening of May 29 caused flash floods and landslides over a wide area, killing 1 person, forcing 5 households to be urgently evacuated, and affecting 53 other houses.
The natural disaster also swept away 18 fish cages, nearly 1,400 livestock and poultry, damaging nearly 70 hectares of crops and seafood. Three bridges were swept away, four electric poles were broken, and National Highway 16 through Nhon Mai was broken, causing an estimated loss of more than 35 billion VND.
At Huu Khuong Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, mud and dirt flooded into the campus, desks, chairs and school supplies, causing severe damage, affecting students' daily activities and learning.
In Ky Son district, the flood at the end of May 2025 also caused severe damage to property, infrastructure and killed a resident.

After inspecting the scene, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De requested localities to continue to be on duty, implementing the "4 on-site" motto to promptly respond to arising situations. At the same time, urgently overcome landslides, ensure smooth traffic, restore electricity and water systems, support people to stabilize their lives and production.
The leaders of Nghe An province assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with relevant units to develop a support plan suitable to the level of damage in each locality, especially prioritizing communes that suffered heavy damage such as Huu Khuong, Nhon Mai, Tri Le, Hanh Dich.
"The province will do its best to support the people, not letting any people go hungry or lack water for daily use. In the long term, it is necessary to study resettlement and sustainable investment plans to minimize damage caused by natural disasters in mountainous areas" - Mr. Nguyen Van De emphasized.
