Floods killed 19 people, Dak Lak declares emergency situation in 40 localities

Dak Lak - Floods in the locality have killed 19 people and left 6 people missing. The province has declared a natural disaster emergency in 40 communes and wards.

At noon on November 21, the Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to declare a natural disaster emergency in 40 communes and wards.

Accordingly, in recent days, the province has experienced heavy to very heavy rain, floods on rivers exceeding alert level 3. In particular, from November 15 to 20, very heavy rain will occur widely, affecting 40/102 communes and wards of the province.

So far, floods have killed 19 people and left 6 people missing. More than 400 houses were completely damaged, more than 13,800 houses had their roofs blown off and damaged. There were more than 85,700 flooded houses, more than 12,800 households were isolated and more than 15,300 households had to be relocated.

In addition, more than 120,600 hectares of crops, more than 17,700 cages, about 950 hectares of aquaculture and more than 500 fishing vessels were damaged. Many residential areas, production and business establishments, traffic works, irrigation, education, health, culture, telecommunications, electricity... suffered heavy damage.

Widespread power outages, interrupted communication; traffic disruption in many places, seriously affecting people's lives.
