From around 5:00 p.m. on June 2, a heavy rain lasting for more than an hour caused roads in Lang Son city such as Tran Dang Ninh, Ba Trieu, Ngo Quyen, Phai Ve, Phu Loc... to be deeply flooded.
According to the reporter's records, in less than 15 minutes, many streets turned into rivers, with water rising from 30 to 60cm, overflowing into houses and shops along the road.


People wear raincoats and guide motorbikes through the water that flooded the body of the motorbike. Some people struggle in the middle of the intersection when the motorbike stalls, water floods into the exhaust pipe.
In the Phu Loc Plaza area, which is considered the city's bustling commercial center, the road surface was completely covered with water, cars were forced to stop, motorbikes moved every meter in the strong water.
Ms. Hoang Nhu (Chua Tien Street, Lang Son City) said: "I was taking a bus to pick up my child when the heavy rain poured down. After just a few hundred meters, water overflowed from the alley onto the main road, dragging my car around, almost falling and falling".



Ms. Trang Lanh (Tran Dang Ninh Street, Lang Son City) shared: "The house was floating with water, sitting in the house was afraid of the ceiling collapsing because the water had seeped in, the shop leaked out of 1/3 of the row, and people fell and lay still in one place. Every heavy rain is like this miserable thing".
On National Highway 1, the reporter noted that at around 6pm the same day, water overflowed the road surface about 30cm, a series of vehicles, especially container trucks carrying goods and agricultural products, struggled to get to the border gate and inching up a little.
At the beginning of flooded roads, traffic police were on duty and instructed people to move through other routes to avoid vehicles stalling.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on June 2, Lang Son province had rain, moderate to heavy rain, some places had very heavy rain such as: Mau Son 90.1mm, Quang Trung 50.2mm, Loc Binh 49.4mm...
Soil moisture models show that some areas in the above province are nearly saturated (over 85%) or have reached a saturated state.
In the next 3-6 hours, the above province will continue to have rain with common accumulated rainfall from 4080mm, some places over 120mm.
In the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in localities such as Bac Son, Binh Gia, Cao Loc, Chi Lang, Dinh Lap, Loc Binh, Lang Son City, Trang Dinh, Van Lang, Van Quan.

Warning level of natural disaster risk due to flash floods, landslides, land subsidence due to heavy rain or water flow level 1.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also recommends that local authorities pay attention to reviewing flow bottlenecks and vulnerable locations in the area to take preventive and response measures.
