Hydropower reservoirs across the country are lower than the normal water level, while many large reservoirs in the North continue to regulate water for power generation.

According to reservoir operation data, at 10:00 AM on July 12, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir had an upstream water level of 105.82 m, water inflow to the reservoir reached 735 m3/s. The reservoir is discharging a total of 1,230.41 m3/s, including 491 m3/s through the spillway and 739.41 m3/s through the plant, maintaining 1 deep discharge gate. Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 52.01 m and has not yet discharged water.

In the Northwest region, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded a water level of 104.64 m, 117 m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the reservoir reached 4,481 m3/s, almost equivalent to the total discharge flow of 4,474 m3/s. In which, the flow through the spillway is 1,559 m3/s, through the plant is 2,915 m3/s; the reservoir is opening 1 deep discharge gate.

Son La Lake has a water level of 196.51 m, water inflow to the lake reaches 3,579 m3/s and total discharge volume is 3,301 m3/s. Lai Chau Lake reaches an elevation of 284.05 m, water inflow to the lake is 1,627 m3/s, total discharge volume is 1,470 m3/s. Meanwhile, Ban Chat and Huoi Quang Lakes maintain water levels of 460.07 m and 369.46 m respectively, both only generating electricity through the plant.

In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake has a water level of 157.35 m, with a total discharge volume of 685 m3/s. Ban Ve Lake reached a water level of 170.84 m with a water inflow to the lake of 526 m3/s but has not been discharged. Khe Bo Lake operates power generation with a total discharge volume of 218.7 m3/s.

In the South Central region, most reservoirs such as A Vuong, Song Bung 2, Song Tranh 2, Vinh Son A, Vinh Son B, Vinh Son C maintain water levels lower than normal water levels and mainly operate for power generation. Song Ba Ha reservoir discharges 120 m3/s through the plant, while Song Bung 4 discharges 49 m3/s.

In the Central Highlands, Thuong Kon Tum, Pleikurong, Ialy, Se San 4, Buon Tua Srah, Dong Nai 3, Dong Nai 4 and Dai Ninh reservoirs have not yet discharged water. Se Se San 3A reservoir discharges 258 m3/s through the plant, An Khe discharges 4 m3/s through the spillway and Buon Kuop discharges 14.83 m3/s through the spillway.

In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 51.72 m, a water inflow to the reservoir of 340 m3/s and is generating electricity with a discharge flow of 130 m3/s.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 12, the Northern region will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain. Rain concentrates in the late afternoon, night and early morning. Daytime with intermittent sunshine.
