According to reservoir operation data, at 2:00 PM on July 17, in the Northwest area, Hoa Binh reservoir had an upstream water level of 103.53 m, 13.47 m lower than the normal water level (117 m). Water flow to the reservoir reached 5,172 m3/s, total discharge flow of 4,307 m3/s, of which 1,539 m3/s through the spillway and 2,768 m3/s through the plant. The reservoir is opening 1 deep discharge gate, not operating the surface discharge gate.
Son La Lake has a water level of 197.03 m, 17.97 m lower than the normal water level; water inflow to the lake reached 5,780 m3/s, total discharge flow of 3,358 m3/s, all through the plant.
Lai Chau Lake recorded a water level of 280.96 m, 14.04 m lower than the normal water level; water inflow to the lake reached 1,774 m3/s, total discharge volume 1,617 m3/s through the plant.
At Huoi Quang reservoir, the water level reached 369.99 m, only 0.01 m lower than the normal water level. The reservoir discharged a total of 788 m3/s, of which 451 m3/s through the spillway and 337 m3/s through the plant, operating 2 surface discharge gates.
In the Northeast area, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 103.72 m, 16.28 m lower than the normal water level; water flow to the reservoir is 604 m3/s, total discharge is 746.8 m3/s, all through the plant.
In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake has a water level of 149.98 m, 10 m lower than the normal water level; Khe Bo Lake reaches 64.31 m, only 0.69 m away from the normal water level. Ban Ve Lake maintains a water level of 173.38 m, 26.62 m lower than the normal water level and has not yet discharged water.
In the South Central Coast, most reservoirs such as A Vuong, Song Bung 2, Song Bung 4, Song Tranh 2, Vinh Son A, Vinh Son B, Vinh Son C all have water levels lower than normal water levels, mainly generating electricity through power plants or not yet discharging.
In the Central Highlands, Ialy Lake has a water level of 499.15 m, 15.85 m lower than the normal water level; the water flow to the lake reaches 623 m3/s and has not been discharged. Se San 4 Lake discharges 340 m3/s through the plant; Buon Kuop maintains 1 deep discharge gate with a discharge flow through the dam of 15.05 m3/s, while An Khe Lake operates 1 surface discharge gate, discharging 4 m3/s through the spillway dam.
In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 51.47 m, 10.53 m lower than the normal water level. Water flow to the reservoir reached 530 m3/s, total discharge 547 m3/s, all through the plant.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 17, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain; other places in the Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms.
The Central region will be sunny during the day, with hot sun in some places with the highest temperature around 33 - 36 degrees C, and above 36 degrees C in some places.
The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially in the afternoon and evening there are scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain in some places.
