According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:00 on June 17, in the North Central region, Trung Son Lake had a water level of 155.01m, nearly 5m lower than the normal water level, and the inflow to the lake reached 115m3/s.
Ban Ve Lake reached an altitude of 174.65m, 25.35m lower than the normal water level. Khe Bo Lake maintains a water level of 64.59m, only about 0.4m lower than the normal water level and is generating electricity with a flow rate of 95.5m3/s.
In the South Central Coast, A Vuong Lake has a water level of 360.27m, nearly 20m lower than the normal water level. Song Tranh 2 Lake reaches 157.97m, 17m lower than the design threshold. Song Ba Ha Lake has a water level of 103.7m, 2.3m lower than the normal water level and is generating 120m3/s of electricity.
Hydropower reservoirs on the Bung and Vinh Son river systems have not yet discharged overflows. Among them, Vinh Son A reservoir reached 768.54m, Vinh Son B reservoir reached 819.15m and Vinh Son C reservoir reached 972.48m.
In the Central Highlands, Se San 4 reservoir recorded the largest water inflow to the area with 588m3/s, the water level reached 211.81m. Ialy Lake maintains a water level of 495.43m, nearly 20m lower than the normal water level. Pleikrông Lake is at 546.46m, 23.54m lower.
Notably, An Khe Lake is opening 1 surface discharge gate with a spillway discharge flow of 4m3/s. Buon Kuop Lake opens 1 deep discharge gate, the discharge flow through the dam reaches 15.31m3/s. The remaining lakes in the area do not discharge.
In the Dong Nai River basin, Dong Nai 4 reservoir has a water level of 475.19m, only about 0.81m lower than the normal water level. Da Mi reservoir reached 323.67m, approaching the normal water level of 325m, while Ham Thuan reservoir reached 583.16m.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 17, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with locally very heavy rain. Rain concentrated from late afternoon to morning.
The area from Nghe An to Da Nang city and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will be hot, with intense heat in some places with the highest common temperature of 35-37 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C.
The Central Highlands and Southern regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, with locally heavy rain.
