According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:00 on June 17, in the Northwest region, Son La Lake reached an elevation of 195.45m, 19.55m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reached 1,605m3/s, while the total power generation through the plant was 1,384m3/s.
Hoa Binh Lake is at an altitude of 99.05m, nearly 18m lower than the normal water level, and is generating electricity with a flow rate of 1. 451m3/s even though the water inflow to the lake is only 197m3/s.
Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 288.26m, water inflow to the lake reaches 643m3/s and is generating electricity at 460m3/s. Meanwhile, Huoi Quang Lake maintains a water level of 368.42m, only about 1.6m away from the normal water level.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir recorded a water level of 96.78m, 23m lower than the normal water level. The inflow to the reservoir reached 439m3/s and has not been discharged.
In the North Central region, Trung Son, Ban Ve, Khe Bo and Quang Tri reservoirs all do not operate spillways. In which, Trung Son reservoir has a water inflow rate of 115m3/s and generates 82m3/s of electricity; Ban Ve reservoir reached a water level of 174.65m, 25m lower than the normal water level.
In the South Central Coast, Song Tranh 2 reservoir has a water flow to the reservoir of 46.58m3/s but has not been discharged. Song Ba Ha reservoir generates electricity 120m3/s, which is 39m3/s higher than the water flow to the reservoir. A Vuong, Song Bung 2, Song Bung 4, Vinh Son A, Vinh Son B and Vinh Son C reservoirs all do not overflow.
In the Central Highlands, Se San 4 reservoir recorded the highest water inflow to the area with 588m3/s. Se San 3A reservoir generates 282m3/s of electricity, Se San 3 reservoir generates 238m3/s of electricity. Notably, An Khe reservoir is opening 1 surface discharge gate with a spillway discharge flow of 4m3/s. Buon Kuop reservoir opens 1 deep discharge gate, the discharge flow through the dam reaches 15.31m3/s.
In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water inflow rate of 510m3/s and is generating electricity with a total discharge rate of 691m3/s. The current reservoir water level is at 54.32m, 7.68m lower than the normal water level.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 17, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with locally very heavy rain. Rain concentrated from late afternoon to morning.
The area from Nghe An to Da Nang city and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will be hot, with intense heat in some places with the highest common temperature of 35-37 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C.
The Central Highlands and Southern regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, with locally heavy rain.
