According to updated data at 11:00 AM on August 2nd, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has an upstream water level of 106.56 m, lower than the normal water level by 13.44 m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 1,065 m3/s, while the total discharge is 1,228.01 m3/s, including 499 m3/s through the spillway and 729.01 m3/s through the plant. The reservoir currently opens 1 deep discharge gate to regulate the flow.
In the Northwest region, Hoa Binh reservoir has the largest inflow in the system with 3,851 m3/s, the total discharge through the plant reaches 2,864 m3/s. The reservoir water level is at an elevation of 100.79 m, still lower than the normal water level of 16.21 m.
Son La Lake recorded a water level of 197.74 m, inflow to the lake of 2,436 m3/s and total discharge volume of 3,269 m3/s. Lai Chau Lake reached a water level of 288.77 m, inflow to 1,412 m3/s, total discharge volume of 963 m3/s. Both Ban Chat and Huoi Quang reservoirs, according to the latest updated data on July 31, have water levels of 470.74 m and 368.7 m respectively, both are generating electricity normally, without overflowing.
In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake reached a water level of 151.89 m, a water inflow of 577 m3/s and discharged 347 m3/s through the plant. Ban Ve Lake is at 176.95 m, Khe Bo Lake 64.23 m and Quang Tri Lake 457.71 m; all lakes do not have to discharge through spillways.
The South Central Coast region continues to record low water flow to reservoirs. A Vuong Lake reached a water level of 353.93 m, Song Tranh 2 Lake at 150.8 m, Song Ba Ha Lake reached 102.14 m. Song Bung 4 Lake generates electricity with a discharge flow of 49 m3/s, Vinh Son A discharges 4.38 m3/s.
In the Central Highlands, Thuong Kon Tum, Pleikurong, Ialy, Se San 4, Dong Nai 3, Dong Nai 4, Don Duong, Dai Ninh, Ham Thuan and Da Mi reservoirs are all operating stably, without regulating discharge. Some reservoirs maintain power generation with small flow rates such as Se San 3A discharging 194 m3/s, Buon Tua Srah discharging 35 m3/s.
Notably, An Khe Lake discharges 4 m3/s through the spillway and is opening 1 surface discharge gate. Buon Kuop Lake discharges 15.35 m3/s through the spillway, maintaining opening 1 deep discharge gate to serve operation.
In the Southeast region, Tri An Lake has a water level of 53.23 m, the water inflow to the lake reaches 810 m3/s, the total discharge volume is 127 m3/s through the plant. Thac Mo Lake reached a water level of 202.86 m and has not yet discharged water.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on August 2, the Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain; the main rain time is in the early morning, late afternoon and night. Intermittent sunny days with the highest temperature around 30 - 33 degrees C.
The Southern region in the late afternoon will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
