According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 1:00 PM on March 5th, in the Northwest region, large hydropower reservoirs on the Da River maintained water levels lower than normal water levels.
Hoa Binh Lake recorded an upstream water level of 113.33m, lower than the normal water level of 117m; water flow to the lake is 1,480 m3/s, total discharge is 363 m3/s, mainly through the plant.
Son La Lake is at 214.76m, close to the normal water level of 215m, the inflow and total discharge volume are both about 921 m3/s. Meanwhile, Lai Chau Lake reached 294.87m, close to the normal water level of 295m, total discharge volume 474 m3/s.
Some other hydropower reservoirs in the area also have water levels lower than the normal water level such as Ban Chat at 449.38m (normal water level 475m) and Huoi Quang at 369.31m (normal water level 370m).
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has an upstream water level of 114.48m, 120m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the reservoir is 62 m3/s, while the total discharge is 246.23 m3/s, mainly through the plant.
In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake recorded a water level of 158.43m (normal water level of 160m), total discharge volume of 77 m3/s. Ban Ve Lake has a water level of 194.26m, no discharge flow has been generated.
In the South Central Coast, many hydropower reservoirs have water levels close to normal water levels such as Song Ba Ha (104.67m/105m), Song Tranh 2 (173.53m/175m) or Song Hinh (207.59m/209m). The reservoirs mainly discharge water through plants to generate electricity, without opening spillway gates.
In the Central Highlands region, Ialy reservoir recorded a water level of 508.55m, lower than the normal water level of 515m and currently has not generated discharge flow. Some other reservoirs such as Se San 3, Se San 3A, Se San 4 maintain water discharge through the plant with a flow rate of 130 - 247 m3/s.
In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 61.57m, close to the normal water level of 62m, water inflow to the reservoir is 200 m3/s and has not recorded discharge flow.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 5th, the Northern region has light rain in some places, early morning fog in some places. Cold at night and morning with the lowest temperature around 15 - 19 degrees Celsius.
The Southern region will be sunny during the day, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places in the late afternoon tomorrow.
