According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 7:30 am on March 3, at Tuyen Quang reservoir (Northeastern region), the upstream water level at 5 am on March 3 reached 114.54m, about 5.46m lower than the normal water level of 120m. Inflow to the reservoir was at 109m3/s, while the total discharge flow reached 198.93m3/s.
In the Northwest region, Lai Chau reservoir recorded a water level of 294.48m, only 0.52m lower than the normal water level of 295m. The water flow to the reservoir is at a high level, reaching 645m3/s; total discharge flow is 130m3/s.
Ban Chat Lake has a water level of 450.67m, significantly lower than the normal water level of 475m. The inflow to the lake reached 21m3/s, while the total discharge flow reached 261m3/s.
At Huoi Quang reservoir, the water level reached 368.98m, approximately the normal water level of 370m. The water flow to the reservoir and the total discharge flow were at 265m3/s.
Son La Lake recorded a water level of 214.81m, approaching the normal water level of 215m. The water flow to the lake reached 388m3/s, while the total discharge flow was at 744m3/s.
Meanwhile, at Hoa Binh reservoir, the upstream water level is at an elevation of 113.04m, 3.96m lower than the normal water level of 117m. Inflow to the reservoir reached 735m3/s; total discharge flow 451m3/s.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 3rd, due to the impact of cold air, the North has rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. It will be cold at night and in the morning with the lowest temperature around 18 - 21 degrees Celsius.
The area from Nghe An to Quang Ngai has rain, showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally with moderate to heavy rain.
The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places, sunny during the day.
