Water levels of hydropower reservoirs nationwide on March 2nd

The water level of hydropower reservoirs across the country is basically stable, many large reservoirs in the Northern region are approaching the normal water level.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 11:00 AM on March 2nd, in the Northwest area, Son La reservoir reached an elevation of 214.72m, only 0.28m lower than the normal water level (215m). The water flow to the reservoir and the total discharge volume were at 537 m3/s.

Lai Chau Lake is at 294.92m, close to the threshold of 295m; inflow to the lake is 506 m3/s, total discharge is 711 m3/s, all through the plant.

At Hoa Binh reservoir, the recorded water level is 112.95m, 4.05m lower than the normal water level (117m). The inflow to the reservoir reached 914 m3/s, while the total discharge volume was 357 m3/s, not discharged through the spillway dam.

Tuyen Quang Lake reached 114.55m (5.45m lower than the 120m threshold), total discharge volume 401.32 m3/s.

In the North Central region, Trung Son reservoir is at 159.13m, discharging 77 m3/s; Ban Ve reservoir reaches 194.74m, discharging 120 m3/s. Reservoirs do not open deep discharge gates, mainly generate electricity.

In the South Central Coast region, A Vuong Lake is at an altitude of 374.69m, and water has not been discharged yet. Song Tranh 2 Lake reached 173.65m, with a total discharge volume of 81.67 m3/s through the plant.

In the Central Highlands, Ialy reservoir discharged 254 m3/s; Se San 4 reservoir discharged 430 m3/s.

Notably, Srepok 3 reservoir discharged 178.86 m3/s, of which 0.86 m3/s passed through the spillway and opened 2 deep discharge gates; Buon Kuop reservoir discharged 121.95 m3/s, opened 1 deep discharge gate.

In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir is at 61.6m, close to the normal water level of 62m, and has not yet discharged water even though the inflow to the reservoir reaches 90 m3/s.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 2nd is that the Northern region will have light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered; sunny skies in the afternoon; especially mountainous areas from tomorrow evening will have rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.

The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places; sunny during the day.
