According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 11:00 AM on March 2nd, at Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir, the upstream water level was at an elevation of 114.53m, 5.47m lower than the normal water level (120m) and 24.53m higher than the dead water level (90m).
In the Northwest area, Lai Chau Lake recorded a water level of 294.92m, only 0.08m lower than the normal water level (295m). The water flow to the lake is at a high level of 717m3/s, equivalent to the total discharge through the plant, without overflowing.
Ban Chat Lake reached a water level of 451.22m, much lower than the normal water level of 475m. The inflow to the lake is at 19m3/s, while the total discharge flow reaches 265m3/s, all through the plant.
At Huoi Quang reservoir, the upstream water level is at 369.07m, only 0.93m lower than the normal water level (370m). The inflow to the reservoir reached 270m3/s, the total discharge flow is 265m3/s, no overflow discharge.
Son La Lake recorded a water level of 214.73m, 0.27m lower than the normal water level (215m). The water flow to the lake reached 786m3/s, while the total discharge was at 230m3/s, all through the plant.
At Hoa Binh reservoir (Phu Tho province), the upstream water level reached 112.97m, 4.03m lower than the normal water level (117m) and 32.97m higher than the dead water level (80m). Water flow to the reservoir reached 914m3/s, total discharge volume 357m3/s, without operating deep and surface discharge gates.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 2nd is that the Northern region will have light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered; sunny skies in the afternoon; especially mountainous areas from tomorrow evening will have rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places; sunny during the day.
