According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 11:30 am on February 27, at Tuyen Quang Lake, the upstream water level reached 114.58m, lower than the normal water level of 120m by more than 5m. The water flow to the lake reached 178m3/s, the total discharge flow was 174.58m3/s, all through the power generating unit.
Meanwhile, at Lai Chau Lake, the water level is at an elevation of 294.67m, approaching the normal water level of 295m. The water flow to the lake reaches 107m3/s and currently no discharge flow is generated.
Also in the Da River basin, Ban Chat Lake recorded a water level of 452.94m, lower than the normal water level (475m) by more than 22m. The water flow to the lake is at 11m3/s, while the total discharge flow is 263m3/s through power generation.
At Huo Huoi Quang Lake, the water level reached 369.52m, only less than 0.5m lower than the normal water level (370m). Water flow to the lake reached 288m3/s; total discharge flow 374m3/s, no overflow discharge.
Notably, Son La Lake is at an altitude of 214.63m, approaching the normal water level of 215m. The water flow to the lake reaches 515m3/s; the total discharge flow is up to 1,172m3/s, mainly serving power generation.
At Hoa Binh Lake, the upstream water level is at 112.74m, lower than the normal water level (117m) by more than 4m. Water flow to the lake reached 134m3/s; total discharge flow of 1,227m3/s through the generating unit.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for February 27th, the Northern region has light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered, sunny skies in the afternoon; especially the delta area has light rain, drizzle and fog at night and early morning. The Southern region has showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
