According to updated data at 11:15 am on August 30, the upstream water level of Hoa Binh Hydropower Lake reached 105.32 m, while the normal water level is 117 m and the dead water level is 80 m.
Water flow to the reservoir reached 2,828 m3/s. Total discharge volume at 247 m3/s, all through the plant; the reservoir did not discharge through the spillway at the time of update.
Thus, the water level of Hoa Binh Lake is currently lower than the normal water level by 11.68 m, but higher than the dead water level by 25.32 m.
Previously, in August 2026, Hoa Binh reservoir repeatedly regulated water through the bottom discharge gate at the request of functional agencies. On August 22, the reservoir was requested to close one bottom discharge gate when the upstream water level was at 102.36 m.
