Many hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region are still lower than the normal water level, while the water flow to large reservoirs is maintained at a high level.

According to updated data at 3:15 PM on August 16, at Tuyen Quang reservoir, the upstream water level reached 104.02m, lower than the normal water level by 15.98m. Inflow to the reservoir 526m3/s, total discharge volume 742.52m3/s.

Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 294.53m, 0.47m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the lake reached 1,350m3/s, total discharge volume 1,452m3/s.

Son La Lake is at 197.59m, lower than the normal water level by 17.41m. Water inflow to the lake reached 2,247m3/s, total discharge volume 3,204m3/s.

At Hoa Binh reservoir, the upstream water level reached 103.91m, lower than the normal water level by 13.09m. Inflow to the reservoir is 3,496m3/s, total discharge is 2,783m3/s.

Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 54.17m, lower than the normal water level by 3.83m. Water flow to the lake is 310m3/s, total discharge is 294.04m3/s.

In the reservoirs in the Northwest region, Ban Chat reservoir has a water level of 470.95m, lower than the normal water level by 4.05m; water flows to the reservoir 108m3/s, total discharge 243m3/s. Huoi Quang reservoir is at 368.82m, lower than the normal water level by 1.18m; water flows to 301m3/s, total discharge 341m3/s.
