According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 10:45 am on March 20, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded a water level of 114.79m, about 5.2m lower than the normal water level.
The water flow to the reservoir reached 50 m3/s, while the total discharge amount was 121.26 m3/s.
In the Northwest region, large reservoirs continue to operate with significant discharge flow.
Son La Lake reached 214.23m, only less than 1m below the normal water level, total discharge amount up to 963 m3/s - the highest in the area. Hoa Binh Lake is at 115.39m, discharging 416 m3/s.
Huoi Quang and Ban Chat reservoirs maintained water levels of 368.78m and 439.7m respectively, with total discharge volumes of 264 m3/s and 242 m3/s respectively.
Meanwhile, Lai Chau reservoir reached 293.89m, nearly reaching the normal water level (295m) but has not generated discharge.
Notably, Thac Ba reservoir is discharging 462.72 m3/s, much higher than the water inflow to the reservoir (50 m3/s), showing a trend of regulation to ensure flood prevention capacity.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 20th, the Northern region will have light rain in some places at night, early morning fog and light fog scattered; sunny skies with reduced clouds in the afternoon.
The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places at night; sunny during the day, especially the East has hot sunny places.
