According to updated data at 3:15 PM on August 21, hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region are having water levels lower than normal water levels.
Hoa Binh Lake has an upstream water level of 103.03 m, which is 117 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the lake is 2,929 m3/s, total discharge is 4,437 m3/s.
In the total discharge volume of Hoa Binh reservoir, 1,530 m3/s through the spillway and 2,907 m3/s through the plant. The reservoir is opening 1 deep discharge gate.
Son La Lake has a water level of 196.91 m, which is 215 m lower than the normal water level. Water flow to the lake reached 2,197 m3/s, total discharge volume 2,475 m3/s.
At Lai Chau reservoir, the water level is at 293.42 m, 295 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the reservoir is 1,298 m3/s, total discharge is 1,503 m3/s.
Ban Chat Lake has a water level of 470.4 m, 475 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the lake is 95 m3/s, total discharge is 193 m3/s.
Huo Huoi Quang Lake recorded a water level of 368.54 m, lower than the normal water level of 370 m. Inflow to the lake is 50 m3/s and total discharge is 0 m3/s.
At Tuyen Quang reservoir, the water level is at 102.37 m, 120 m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the reservoir reached 624 m3/s, total discharge volume 766.84 m3/s.
Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 54.24 m, 58 m lower than the normal water level. Water flow to the lake is 370 m3/s, total discharge is 225.64 m3/s.
Notably, in Hoa Binh, the total discharge volume is higher than the water flow to the reservoir. In Son La, Lai Chau and Tuyen Quang, the discharge volume is also maintained at a high level compared to the water flow.
