Water levels at many large hydropower reservoirs in the North are being regulated and operated through plants and spillways.

In the Northwest region, Hoa Binh reservoir has an upstream water level of 101.78 m, a normal water level of 117 m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 3,805 m3/s, the total discharge volume was 4,294 m3/s, of which 1,502 m3/s was through the spillway and 2,792 m3/s through the plant.

Son La Lake has a water level of 198.27 m, water inflow to the lake of 2,932 m3/s, total discharge volume of 3,201 m3/s, all through the plant.

Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 286.82 m, water flow to the lake is 1,665 m3/s, total discharge is 1,486 m3/s through the plant.

Ban Chat Lake has a water level of 469.84 m, a water inflow of 202 m3/s, and a total discharge of 244 m3/s through the plant.

Notably, Huoi Quang reservoir has a water level of 369.84 m, only 0.16 m lower than the normal water level of 370 m. Water flow to the reservoir reached 368 m3/s, total discharge volume 340 m3/s through the plant.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 107.53 m, water inflow to the reservoir is 1,562 m3/s. Total discharge volume reached 1,227.04 m3/s, including 510 m3/s through the spillway and 717.04 m3/s through the plant.

Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 52.24 m, a normal water level of 58 m. The water flow to the lake reaches 512 m3/s, the total discharge is 444.86 m3/s through the plant.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on July 25, the Northern region has showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain; especially the mountainous and midland areas have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain.

Thanh Hoa and Nghe An have showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.

The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places, especially in the afternoon and night with rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.
