According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 10:00 AM on May 7, Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir had an upstream water level at an elevation of 107.67m, nearly 10m lower than the normal water level of 117m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 1,246m3/s, while the total discharge through the plant was at 2,815m3/s.
At Son La reservoir, the upstream water level reached 204.57m, about 10m lower than the normal water level of 215m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 281m3/s, the total discharge through power generation was at 1,948m3/s.
Lai Chau Lake is currently at an altitude of 294.17m, close to reaching the normal water level of 295m. Meanwhile, Huoi Quang Lake reaches a level of 369.4m, about 0.6m lower than the normal water level.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir recorded an upstream water level of 110.28m, water inflow to the reservoir reached 135m3/s and the total discharge through the plant was nearly 130m3/s.
Thac Ba Lake currently has a water level of 51.65m, 6m lower than the normal water level of 58m. The water flow to the lake reaches 90m3/s, the total discharge through power generation is at over 145m3/s.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 7, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have showers and thunderstorms in some places; from tomorrow evening, it will be cloudy, with rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain. The meteorological agency warns of the risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
The Southern region has scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain.
