According to updated data at 11:00 am on July 8, Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir has an upstream water level of 103.05 m, 13.95 m lower than the normal water level of 117 m. Water flow to the reservoir reached 3,513 m3/s, total discharge flow 2,748 m3/s, all through the plant, without operating discharge gates.
Son La hydropower reservoir has a water level of 194.71 m, 20.29 m lower than the normal water level of 215 m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 3,435 m3/s, total discharge flow of 3,079 m3/s, not discharged through the spillway dam.
Lai Chau Lake recorded a water level of 283.66 m, 11.34 m lower than the normal water level of 295 m. Water flow to the lake reached 1,725 m3/s, total discharge volume 1,489 m3/s, all through the plant.
At Huoi Quang reservoir, the water level reached 369.52 m, only 0.48 m lower than the normal water level of 370 m. Inflow to the reservoir reached 341 m3/s, total discharge volume 233 m3/s.
Ban Chat Lake has a water level of 457.03 m, 17.97 m lower than the normal water level of 475 m. Inflow to the lake reached 771 m3/s, total discharge volume 167 m3/s.
In the Northeast area, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 107.5 m, 12.5 m lower than the normal water level of 120 m. Water flow to the reservoir reached 1,063 m3/s, total discharge volume 1,225.72 m3/s, of which 510 m3/s through the spillway and 715.72 m3/s through the plant. The reservoir is opening 1 deep discharge gate.
Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 51.47 m, 6.53 m lower than the normal water level of 58 m. Water flow to the lake reached 350 m3/s, total discharge 140.87 m3/s, all through the plant.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 8, the Northern region will have showers and thunderstorms in some places, especially in mountainous areas, there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms at night. Tomorrow it will be sunny, from tomorrow evening there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.
