According to updated data at 1:30 PM on July 6, the water level at most large hydropower reservoirs across the country was lower than the normal water level and no reservoirs discharged overflows.
In the Northwest region, Hoa Binh reservoir has an upstream water level of 102.52m, 14.48m lower than the normal water level of 117m. The inflow to the reservoir reached 3,633m3/s, while the discharge through power generation was 2,876m3/s.
Son La Lake recorded a water level of 194.18m, nearly 21m lower than the normal water level of 215m. Inflow to the lake reached 3,731m3/s, discharge flow 3,175m3/s.
Lai Chau, Ban Chat and Huoi Quang reservoirs all have water levels below normal water levels. Among them, Huoi Quang reservoir reached 368.92m, only about 1.08m below normal water levels of 370m.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 108.52m, 11.48m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the reservoir reached 1,061m3/s, total discharge flow 1,223.78m3/s.
In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake reached a water level of 159.7m, only 0.3m lower than the normal water level. Khe Bo Lake has a water level of 64.64m, 0.36m lower than the normal water level of 65m. Ban Ve Lake reached 170.67m, 29.33m lower than the normal water level.
In the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions, most reservoirs are still quite far from the normal water level. Some reservoirs are approaching the design threshold such as Vinh Son A (767.46/775m), Vinh Son B (818.23/826m), Se San 3 (303.48/304.5m), Se San 3A (238.9/239m), Dong Nai 4 (474.28/476m), Da Mi (323.98/325m) and An Khe (428.29/429m).
In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 52.08m, nearly 10m lower than the normal water level of 62m. Inflow to the reservoir reached 300m3/s, total discharge flow 516m3/s.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 6, the Northwest region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. The Northeast region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain.
