According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:00 on May 9, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir had an upstream water level of 110.29 m, water inflow to the reservoir 50 m3/s, currently no discharge has occurred.
In the Northwest region, reservoirs on the Da River system recorded water inflows ranging from 17-313 m3/s.
Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 294.04 m, water recedes at 313 m3/s; Ban Chat Lake reaches 434.89 m, water recedes at 17 m3/s; Huoi Quang Lake reaches 369.44 m, water recedes at 17 m3/s, the lakes are still mainly storing water.
Notably, the two largest reservoirs in the system continue to increase discharge for power generation. Son La Lake has a water level of 203.94 m, a water inflow of 221 m3/s and a total discharge for power generation of 482 m3/s. Hoa Binh Lake reached a water level of 106.99 m, a water inflow of 366 m3/s, and a total discharge for power generation of up to 1,139 m3/s.
Thac Ba Lake also maintains power generation with a total discharge flow of 290.76 m3/s, water level reaching 51.63 m.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 9, the Northwest region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. Other areas in the North will have showers and thunderstorms in some places. The meteorological agency warns of the risk of extreme phenomena such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places; sunny during the day, hot in some places, especially the East has hot sun.
