On December 5, at the 25th session of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council, Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An presented a report on the socio-economic situation in 2024 and the socio-economic development plan for 2025.
Accordingly, the province's socio-economic situation has had very positive changes. It is expected to complete and exceed 27/28 main targets of the 2024 plan.
The growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 9.01%, ranking 2nd in the North Central region, 3rd in the North Central and Central coastal regions, and 13th in the country.
State budget revenue is estimated at VND 23,751 billion, exceeding 49.3% of the estimate, exceeding 10.4% compared to 2023, the third consecutive year exceeding the VND 20,000 billion mark and approaching the target of the 19th Provincial Party Congress.
Agricultural, forestry and fishery production continued to maintain stable growth. Industrial production recovered strongly, with the industrial production index estimated to increase by 11.5%, and total export turnover estimated to reach 3.7 billion USD.
By the end of November 2024, the disbursement rate of public investment capital will reach nearly 70%, and is expected to reach over 95% by the end of 2024. Works and projects, especially key works, will be completed and put into use on schedule.
Investment attraction continues to be a bright spot, with the total newly granted and increased investment capital in November reaching over VND59.62 trillion; of which FDI capital reached nearly USD1.568 billion, expected to reach over USD1.69 billion for the whole year, the highest ever, in the top 10 nationwide.
The fields of culture, society, and social security have received more attention and achieved more positive and clear results. Nghe An ranked 4th in the country in terms of national excellent student exam results, and 12th in the country in terms of high school graduation exam results. The whole province has supported the construction and repair of 11,976 houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties, reaching 73% of the demand for the entire period of 2023 - 2025.
Among the 28 main targets for 2025, the People's Committee of Nghe An province set a target of GRDP growth rate of about 9.5-10.5%, state budget revenue of 17,726 billion VND; export turnover of 4.5 billion USD; GRDP per capita of about 71-72 million VND; multidimensional poverty rate of about 1-1.5%...
To achieve the above targets and objectives, the People's Committee of Nghe An province has set out 10 main groups of tasks and solutions. In particular, it is necessary to continue reviewing and evaluating the targets and objectives of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2021-2025 to strengthen direction and administration, striving to achieve the highest level.
At this session, the People's Council of Nghe An province will consider and decide on many important contents on socio-economic and state budget issues; the concretization of Resolution No. 137 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Nghe An province; the Prime Minister approves the Planning and Implementation Plan of the Planning of Nghe An province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
At the same time, based on reviewing the submissions of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Council will discuss and consider approving 47 draft resolutions in various fields.
