On the morning of December 1, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the Chairman of Nam Luc Commune People's Committee confirmed the information that a male worker was missing while repairing a bridge in the commune.
“The incident occurred on November 29. The missing person is a worker of Lao Cai Bridge Construction Joint Stock Company. We have not yet determined whether the victim is dead or not, so the authorities are mobilizing about 40 people to search for him,” added the Chairman of Nam Luc Commune People’s Committee.
Initial information, at 7:30 a.m. on November 29, Mr. Dinh Van Soan (born in 1970, residing in residential group 1, Phong Hai Farm town, Bao Thang district) went to clean up trash on Nam Ton bridge, the section flowing through Coc Lau and Nam Luc communes. At about 5:50 p.m. the same day, his family went to Nam Ton bridge to search but could not find him.
At the scene, tools such as axes, machetes, safety ropes, cloth pants, jackets were found in the middle of the bridge, along with a motorbike. Along with that, the authorities also found a rope ladder hooked down to the bridge pier, and a sack of goods under the bridge.
