The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has just issued an urgent document to project management boards, investors, and investors requesting to accelerate the progress of key projects in the area, especially not to interrupt construction during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year holiday 2026.
According to the Department of Construction, over the past time, Ho Chi Minh City has completed related procedures to start construction and kick off many important strategic projects with maximum shortened progress such as: Metro 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong), Rach Chiec Sports Complex, Phu My 2 bridge, Can Gio bridge...
At the same time, accelerate the completion of major projects such as: Ring Road 3, Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway, road connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, construction of Nguyen Khoai bridge and road...
However, according to reports from investors, currently only Ring Road 3 project (invested by the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board) and Rach Xuyen Tam project (invested by the Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board) are organizing construction during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 holiday.
The Department of Construction believes that accelerating the progress of key projects contributes to helping Ho Chi Minh City achieve the double-digit growth target in 2026. Therefore, it is necessary to maximize the time to deploy construction, especially during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.
For the group of projects under construction such as Ring Road 2, Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4 (section passing through old Binh Duong province), Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway, Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh, road connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, Nguyen Khoai road bridge, pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River..., the Department requests investors and investors to urgently review the remaining workload, focus resources to ensure completion on schedule.
Units must develop scientific deployment plans, taking into account unfavorable factors such as weather, difficulties in material sources; strengthen inspection, urging, and closely follow the progress; organize continuous and uninterrupted construction, especially during and after the 2026 Tet holiday.
For the group of projects that have just started and started construction such as Rach Chiec Sports Complex, Phu My 2 bridge, Can Gio bridge..., deployment work must be directed drastically, mobilizing maximum resources, taking advantage of the dry season weather and the Tet holiday to accelerate progress.
In the immediate future, during the Lunar New Year 2026 holiday, investors and investors are required to promote surveys, prepare design documents, complete procedures, prepare ground... to be ready to deploy construction simultaneously immediately after Tet, to prevent the situation where the project has to stop to wait for completion of documents.
Along with the requirement to accelerate progress, the Department also reminded units to pay attention to taking care of regimes and policies for officials, engineers, and workers participating in construction throughout Tet.
