Coming to Kim Thuong commune, Tan Son mountainous district (Phu Tho) in early April, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters were surprised by the spaciousness of the Nhang hamlet resettlement area located among the vast green hills.
The Nhang hamlet resettlement area was built on a total land area of about 5 hectares, resettling 64 ethnic minority households that had previously had to be relocated due to the risk of landslides. Here, solid houses with traditional stilt house architecture are being completed by the people.

Ms. Dinh Thi Trieu - one of the households in the Nhang hamlet resettlement area - shared: "Having been arranged a place to live in the resettlement area, we no longer have to worry about storms and landslides like before. From now on, we can live, produce, and develop the economy with peace of mind".
In addition to allocating resettlement land to households, Tan Son district also supports house construction and low-interest bank loans. Here, each poor household is supported with 200 million VND, the remaining households are supported with 100 million VND.

Previously, at the end of 2022, after being approved by the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, the Nhang hamlet resettlement area was started, with a total investment of more than VND34.5 billion from the central budget reserve capital, the capital of the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021-2030.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Tran Tan Giang - Director of the Project Management Board for Planning and Infrastructure Construction of Tan Son district - said that up to now, the technical infrastructure of the Nhanh hamlet resettlement area has been completed over 95%, ensuring safe housing for people in the upcoming storm season.

According to Mr. Giang, regarding the form of the houses, the district previously organized a consultation with households with 5 different types of houses, then agreed to build with the traditional stilt house design. In terms of area, each apartment ranges from 60 to about 125 m2 depending on the population and economic conditions of each household.
"The invested project has helped ethnic minority households have new safe housing, work with peace of mind, escape poverty... Along with that, the future resettlement area will form a community tourism village, the road from Kim Thuong Commune People's Committee to the resettlement area has also been upgraded by the district to be spacious and spacious" - Mr. Giang shared.

Previously, in 2018, due to the impact of floods in the past year, Nhang hill - where households lived had a crack 100 m long and 70 cm wide - was created. In particular, in September 2024, after storm No. 3 Yagi, Nhang hill had 3 more serious landslides, with a high risk of landslides threatening the safety of people's lives and property living at the foot of the hill.
