Preventing the risk of unsafety from passenger cars

Strengthening passenger car inspection before the journey helps detect violations, eliminate unsafe risks, and protect passengers' lives.

Over the past time, many serious traffic accidents related to passenger cars have shown that controlling unsafe risks needs to be implemented early, before vehicles start their journey. In Hanoi, in recent days, functional forces have been strengthening inspections on gateway routes, including at night.

According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, the access road from the center of Hanoi to the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway is one of the routes with a fairly large number of passenger cars operating, especially at the end of the day, when many buses start their journey to the provinces.

Here, Road Traffic Police Team No. 14 (CSGT) of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police deployed forces, focusing on checking traffic conditions of vehicles, and at the same time detecting violations that may directly affect passenger safety.

Through inspection, some bus companies still violate regulations on the number of passengers. Many drivers, after being inspected, admitted that carrying too many people was a violation, but said that passenger transport activities still depend on the needs of passengers.

According to the traffic police force, carrying too many people is not only a violation in transportation activities but also increases the risk of unsafety when the number of passengers exceeds the design of the vehicle, affecting space, service conditions and the ability to ensure safety in the vehicle.

Inspection at night contributes to ensuring traffic order and safety, and at the same time raising the awareness of compliance of drivers, especially those driving passenger and cargo vehicles during this time frame" - Captain Nguyen Quang Tuan, officer of Road Traffic Police Team No. 14 shared.

Not only at the southern gateway route, passenger car control is also strengthened on other key routes.

In the Thang Long Avenue area, traffic police forces of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 regularly organize checks at night. In addition to violations of transport conditions, working groups focus on checking factors directly related to the driver's ability to control vehicles.

Alcohol concentration, drugs, technical condition and safety equipment are tightened for inspection to promptly detect risks.

Through inspections by functional forces, the bus company will receive and overcome any shortcomings. Before passengers get on the bus, we will also strengthen reminders to fasten seat belts and guide the location of glass breakers in case of dangerous situations" - Mr. Vu Van Trinh, a passenger car driver on the Hai Phong - Dien Bien route shared.

Each accident involving a passenger car can leave particularly serious consequences because behind the wheel is not only one driver but also the safety of many passengers. Therefore, inspection is not only aimed at handling violations but also helps identify and eliminate risks right before the journey begins.

Regarding the work of ensuring traffic order and safety on the occasion of National Day September 2, on August 19, Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc signed Official Dispatch No. 55/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

In which, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Public Security to direct the Police of units and localities to strengthen patrols, inspections, and strictly handle violations; organize general control of passenger and cargo transport vehicles, focusing on business transport cars.

The Ministry of Construction is requested to direct its affiliated agencies, the Department of Construction and transport business units to have plans to ensure capacity, service quality and traffic safety, especially passenger transport activities by road during the holidays.
