Responding to the call to join hands to share difficulties with people in the Central and Central Highlands provinces who suffered heavy damage due to natural disasters, the Vietnam Agricultural and Environment Trade Union has widely launched a fundraising campaign in the entire industry.
With a sense of responsibility and affection for colleagues and people, thousands of cadres, union members and workers have actively participated in contributing. Up to now, the total amount of donations has reached more than 6.5 billion VND. The entire amount was transferred to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for allocation to localities. Of which, in the latest donation alone, the support amount is more than 1.3 billion VND.
Currently, the Vietnam Agricultural and Environment Trade Union is continuing to call for and receive support from agencies, units and individuals in the industry to increase support resources, helping people in flooded areas to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang emphasized the importance of solidarity in times of trouble. The Minister requested the Industry Union to proactively coordinate closely with relevant units to receive and transfer support funds to ensure the principles of publicity, transparency and due diligence, ensuring that help reaches those in need.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment will prioritize focusing maximum support resources on plant varieties, livestock and essential agricultural materials. The goal is to help people take advantage of the time to sow new crops and re-herd livestock and poultry early, both to restore household economy and ensure food supply to meet increased consumer demand during the upcoming Lunar New Year.
