This is a pass that plays an important role in connecting Nha Trang coastal tourist town and Da Lat plateau, but so far it has not met safety conditions to allow vehicles to circulate.

The main artery connecting Nha Trang - Da Lat is cut off
Khanh Le Pass is an important traffic route on National Highway 27C, directly connecting two major tourist centers, Nha Trang and Da Lat.
The serious landslides of this pass have caused traffic disruption between the two localities for a long time, greatly affecting the travel needs of people and means of transport.
Previously, on the evening of November 16, a particularly serious landslide occurred in the Khanh Le Pass area when a large rock block from the positive slope suddenly rolled down, crushing a passenger bus traveling from Da Lat to Nha Trang.
The consequences of the incident were extremely serious because they caused 6 deaths and 19 injuries. In particular, the road must be temporarily suspended to serve the repair work and ensure safety.
After more than a month since the incident, Khanh Le Pass has not been able to reopen.

Currently, vehicles from Nha Trang to Da Lat and vice versa are forced to move around Phan Rang, along National Highway 27 and then cross Song Pha Pass.
Taking a detour causes the travel distance to be extended, causing many inconveniences for people and vehicles participating in traffic.
According to the record, although a technical lane has been basically opened, there are still many locations on the entire pass that pose a potential risk of insecurity and do not meet the conditions to allow vehicles to circulate again.

Day and night to fix hundreds of landslides
According to construction units, the work to overcome the consequences of the landslide on Khanh Le Pass is facing many difficulties.
The reason is that the mountain pass terrain is dangerous, the weather is erratic, and interspersed with rain and sunshine, making the risk of further landslides always present, directly threatening the safety of the forces and vehicles on duty.
To date, about 100 landslides have been recorded along the entire Khanh Le Pass. Of which, more than 50 points were completely blocked.
Many large stone locations still obstruct visibility, mud and dirt spill onto the road, causing the construction to be carried out carefully, step by step, ensuring safety.

Mr. Le Thuan Doan - Director of Khanh Hoa Road Management and Construction Joint Stock Company - said that forces and vehicles are being mobilized to the maximum, working continuously day and night to clean up soil and rocks, and overcome landslides.
Thereby, gradually completing the road surface and ensuring the necessary technical conditions. The goal is to soon restore this important traffic route, but safety requirements are still a top priority.
As expected, the landslide repair work on Khanh Le Pass will be completed in about the next week. If technical and safety conditions are ensured, the authorities will consider a plan to allow the route to open to traffic by the end of December 2025.
While waiting for the route to be opened, vehicles must continue to move along the alternative route through Phan Rang, National Highway 27 and Song Pha Pass.
The early repair and operation of Khanh Le Pass will not only help reduce pressure on routes but also meet the needs of travel and trade on the Nha Trang - Da Lat connection axis.
