The People's Committee of Soc Trang Ward has just issued a plan to implement the "Saturday for the People" model to facilitate people in accessing and performing administrative procedures.
According to the plan, the model will take place every Saturday, from August 16 to September 27, 2025, at the Hamlet People's Committee, Cultural House, school or suitable locations. Here, people can carry out many administrative procedures right at the facility, instead of having to go to the headquarters of the Ward Public Administration Service Center.
The procedures implemented include: registration of birth, death, marriage; issuance of copy of household registration record; certification of copy; confirmation of admission documents; recognition of poor households and near-poor households; issuance and exchange of disability certificates; confirmation of residence; instructions for submitting documents online; support for installing VNeID application, opening bank accounts... At the same time, the program will integrate propaganda on administrative reform and the 2-level government model.
The Ward People's Committee assigned the Public Administration Service Center to be a consulting unit, coordinating with specialized departments, ward police and people's boards of the hamlets to arrange personnel, receive and process documents promptly. The results of the settlement will be sent to the Hamlet People's Committee for transmission to the people. After the implementation, the units will organize a preliminary review, learn from experience and record feedback from the people.
Mr. Huynh Hoai Nam - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Director of the Public Administration Service Center of Soc Trang Ward (Can Tho City) - said that the development of the model aims to facilitate people's access to administrative procedures, reduce travel time for people in the suburbs, away from the central area.
