Nghe An removes difficulties for garbage-to-energy plant worth more than 4,000 billion VND

QUANG ĐẠI |

Functional agencies of Nghe An province accompany and support procedures, mechanisms for waste treatment, service unit prices and electricity output for the waste-to-energy project of more than 4,000 billion VND.

After the groundbreaking ceremony on August 19, the Nghe An Waste-to-Energy Plant Project in Hai Loc commune has been implemented. Recorded at the scene, the investor is mobilizing machinery and vehicles to implement the project items.

According to the investment plan, the plant has a treatment capacity of about 1,500 tons of waste/day and night, and a power generation capacity of about 30MW. The investor sets a target to put the plant into operation in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Representatives of the investor said that the plant uses waste treatment technology combined with electricity generation, in order to reduce the amount of waste to be landfilled, treat domestic waste and generate electricity from the waste burning process.

In addition to organizing construction, some mechanisms related to the factory's operation are continuing to be completed by the parties, including a plan to receive waste and determine the unit price of waste treatment services. According to the expected plan, the investor will sign a waste treatment contract with the People's Committee of Nghe An province. The province organizes waste collection in planned areas, transports it to the factory and pays treatment costs based on the actual amount of waste received.

Representatives of the investor said that the enterprise has submitted documents related to the unit price for waste treatment to the provincial specialized agency. Currently, functional agencies are appraising to develop a specific price. Another content that the enterprise is interested in is the electricity consumption mechanism after the plant goes into operation.

According to the investor representative, the enterprise will continue to work with the electricity industry to unify the contents related to connection, electricity purchase and sale and output electricity prices of the plant. The early completion of mechanisms for receiving waste, waste treatment service prices and electricity output are considered important issues for the project to have a stable operating basis after completion.
