Dak Lak - The image of a waterway police officer using a canoe to bring the coffin in time to prepare the funeral for the girl's death moved many people.

In recent days, heavy rains in the eastern area of Dak Lak province have caused a series of localities to be submerged in water, completely cutting off traffic.

The whole province recorded 25 deaths and missing people; more than 400 houses were completely damaged; nearly 13,800 houses had their roofs blown off; more than 85,700 houses were flooded.

Nearly 13,000 households were forced to evacuate urgently, many families were left without food, drinking water and could not access medical services.

In the context of paralyzed roads and making access to relief extremely difficult, the story of a child's journey to bring the coffin over the flood moved many people.

Ng.Ng.Nh.U (born in 2013, in Tay Hoa commune) passed away on November 19 due to high fever. The floodwaters rose so quickly that the family could not take the child to the emergency room, and all roads were cut off.

For two days, relatives waited helplessly for the water to recede to prepare for the funeral, but the heavy rain did not stop, and all paths were blocked.

On the morning of November 21, in despair, the family went to the rescue team on duty in the deeply flooded area to pray for help in bringing the coffin home for burial.

As soon as the information was received, officers and soldiers of the Dak Lak Waterway Police Team bought coffins and used a specialized canoe to travel more than 1km through the rushing water to take U to his house.

The image of soldiers brave the rain, wade through water, and holding a small coffin in a canoe in the rushing water made many people feel choked up.

"The village road was flooded more than 1m, our family was completely helpless. If it were not for the police canoe, we would not have been able to bury him. We are very grateful, Us relative shared.

After more than an hour of overcoming the flood, the Waterway Police brought the girl's coffin to a safe place for the family to hold a funeral and bury according to local customs.
