On April 29, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province announced that it had agreed on the policy of adding the Ma Vong roundabout intersection project and the Tran Phu coastal tunnel project, Nha Trang city for investment consideration.
Currently, Nha Trang City People's Committee is completing relevant documents and papers to serve the proposal to add Ma Vong roundabout intersection projects and Tran Phu tunnel project to the list of key public investment projects.
Previously, Nha Trang City People's Committee proposed the Tran Phu tunnel project with a total investment of VND 6,228 billion, divided into two phases.
Phase 1 plans to invest in the section from alley 86 Tran Phu to Nguyen Chanh Street. Of which, the closed tunnel is 940 m long, designed with two tunnel gates limited to Tran Quang Khai Street - Le Thanh Ton Street; the open tunnel to the south is 230 m long from alley 86 Tran Quang Khai and the open tunnel to the north is 230 m long from Le Thanh Ton to Nguyen Chanh.
The total length of the tunnel construction is about 1.4 km. The total investment is 1,843 billion VND, the implementation period is 2025 - 2040.
Phase 2 is expected to be invested from Hoang Dieu Street to Nguyen Binh Khiem Street. Invest in an additional 2.9 km of tunnel, raising the total tunnel length to 4.3 km; adding two more branches up and down the tunnel at the intersection of Nguyen Chanh Street and Alley 86 Tran Phu. This phase has a total investment of VND 4,385 billion, with implementation after 2040.
Khanh Hoa provincial specialized agencies assess that the investment study for the tunnel construction project on Tran Phu Street is really necessary.
The project needs to invest synchronously in both phases from Hoang Dieu Street to Nguyen Binh Khiem Street to promote investment efficiency, avoiding waste (costs for closing and opening openings of open tunnel sections when dividing the investment phase).
